Out-of-City Contractors:
-
All out-of-city contractors are required to have a City of Easley business license if performing work within the city limits. These contractors are not license on an annual basis, they are licensed on a "per job" basis. A license issued for a job for a certain location would not be valid if the contractor moves to another location.
-
Any sub-contractor working for a general contractor must also obtain a business license basedon their contract amount.
Inside City Business:
-
Businesses located within the city limits of Easley are required to report all reveneues generated from whatever source to the City at renewal. There is a misconception that only revenues specifically genreated within the city limits have to be reported. In fact, it matters not where they were generate. All revenue must be reported
-
There are no deductions allowed. However, there are exemptions allowed for gross revenues and business license fees paid to other municipalities. These exemptions are only allowed if proof of such is presented at renewal.
