>>MUNICIPAL COURT

The court has jurisdiction of cases that occur within the municipality. Judges issue arrest, search and bench warrants, conduct bond hearings, preside over preliminary hearings, bench and jury trials. Penalties for summary court offenses generally carry penalties of 30 days or a fine up to $500.00 or both, in addition to assessments mandated by legislature.

If you were arrested, or received a courtesy summons, your court appearance is stipulated on your ticket, or on a bail proceeding form.

If you are disputing the charge, you must submit a written trial request to the court no later than the date and time of trial indicated on the ticket or bail proceeding form.

If you are not contesting the charge, and wish to pay the bond, you can do so prior to your court appearance by form of cash, money order, certified check, debit, or credit card. Personal and business checks are not accepted. Failure to pay a traffic ticket will cause your driving privilege to be suspended, or cause a bench warrant to be issued, or both.

Failure to appear in court will result in a trial in absence. Failure to comply with a sentence will also cause a bench warrant to be issued.
