Opportunites with Public Works

We are excited to announce the City of Easley Public Works Department is partnering with Vocational Rehab, Pickens County School District, and Project Search in trying to help young adults with learning disabilities to get on the job training and experience. The goal is to give them confidence and help provide them with the skills to gain employment in the future. We will be providing job internships for young adults with disabilities.

We would like to encourage local businesses that have employment opportunities to contact Vocational Rehab or the Public works Department for more information.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Calling all Housing Associations (HOA's):

The requirements for street signage have changed and many neighborhoods and Housing Associations within the City Limits will be affected. Please contact Justin Durrell at Public Works if you are the President or Spokesperson for your HOA to find out if your current street signage meets the requirements enforced by South Carolina Federal Law and will be in effect for 2018.

THE CITY OF EASLEY NO LONGER ACCEPTING GLASS AS RECYCLING EFFECTIVE MAY 1, 2016

The recycling market has been changing the last several months. The main change for us is the company the City sold our recyclables to, has closed. We are now taking all recyclables to the Pickens County Landfill, which they sell.

Due to changes in the glass recycling and co-mingle marketplaces and to ensure us maintaining marketable products, the City of Easley will stop accepting glass at curbside pickups as of May 1, 2016. Residents can still recycle glass by taking it to the Pickens County Recycling Centers (locations listed below). The city can no longer co-mingle glass with other recyclables.

Pickens County Recycling Centers are located at:

  • Old Liberty Rd. The main landfill.  859-3523

  • Farr’s bridge Rd. (Hwy 183) 859-1041

  • North Old Pendleton Rd 855-6203

Thank you for your help and for your understanding of this issue.
