Street Division

The City of Easley ‘s Street Division provides a level of service to approximately 95 miles of streets that lie within the city limits. Various kinds of maintenance services are provided to include repair of pot holes, repair of concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk, cleaning of storm drain pipe and catch basins, and removal of debris from the traveled roadway and city right of ways when necessary.

 

Asphalt Maintenance

The Street Division repairs pot holes on all 95 miles of city owned streets within the City of Easley. Approximately 55 miles of streets within the City of Easley belong to the State Department of Transportation’s road system. Major repair to the traveled roadway and to storm drain structures on streets that belong to the Department of Transportation is referred to that agency for repair. All aspects of maintenance needs on city owned streets are provided by the Street Division.

 

Storm Drain Repair and Maintenance

The Street Division is charged with repair and maintenance of storm drain systems in various areas throughout the city. Various sizes of storm drainpipe are used in these projects and have included reinforced concrete pipe from 15″ in diameter to 30″ in diameter. This kind of maintenance frequently requires the uncovering of existing storm drainpipes and structures that break and leak. Many open ditches along, and parallel to, the traveled roadway are cleaned to provide adequate drainage as needed. These types of maintenance and repair are performed within the right of way of city owned streets
